Fritz's victory over Zverev was a major upset. Zverev is a former world No. 2 and has won 19 ATP Tour titles.

But Fritz played aggressively from the start and never let Zverev get into a rhythm.

Fritz broke Zverev's serve three times in the first set and twice in the third set.

Zverev had a chance to win the second set in a tiebreaker, but Fritz saved two set points and eventually won the tiebreaker 7-3.

In the fourth set, Fritz broke Zverev's serve twice and cruised to a 6-2 victory.

Fritz's victory is a major breakthrough for the 24-year-old American.

He is now one of the top players in the world and a contender to win a Grand Slam title.
