Marcus Rashford: "We need to use these games to build momentum"
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has said that the team needs to use their upcoming friendlies to build momentum ahead of the new season.
Rashford scored United's only goal in their 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Tuesday and said that the team is starting to find their rhythm.
Addressing the media after the game, Rashford said: "It was a good performance from the team. We created a lot of chances and we could have scored more goals. But it's important to get the win and keep building momentum.
United have won two of their three friendlies so far this summer and Rashford believes that the team is moving in the right direction.
"We're starting to find our rhythm and we're starting to understand how the manager wants us to play," he said. "We're creating a lot of chances and we're starting to score goals. We just need to keep working hard and keep improving.
United will face Aston Villa in their next friendly on Saturday before traveling to Spain for a training camp. They will then face Atletico Madrid in a friendly on July 30 before returning to England for the start of the new season.
Rashford is confident that United will be ready for the new season.
"We've got a lot of new players and we're still getting to know each other," he said. "But we're working hard and we're starting to gel. I'm confident that we'll be ready for the start of the season."
