WNBA Honors Gianna Bryant and Teammates with Draft Selections
A Touching Tribute to Young Dreams
April 18, 2020 - The WNBA has honored Gianna "Gigi" Bryant, daughter of late basketball legend Kobe Bryant, and two of her teammates who were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in January, by selecting them in the 2020 WNBA Draft.
Altobelli, Gianna Bryant, and Chester were all members of the Mamba Sports Academy team and had aspirations of playing in the WNBA.

Altobelli was selected by the New York Liberty with the 15th overall pick, Bryant was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks with the 13th overall pick, and Chester was selected by the Indiana Fever with the 29th overall pick.
The WNBA's decision to select these young athletes is a touching tribute to their dreams and serves as a reminder of the impact that their lives had on the basketball community.
