Russell Wilson Will Be the Denver Broncos Starter in Week 1
Drew Lock's Time in Denver is Likely Over
Wilson to Take the Reins of Broncos Offense
Quarterback Russell Wilson was introduced at Denver Broncos headquarters in Englewood, Colorado, on Aug. 30, 2022, at 05:50 p.m. In a press conference, Wilson expressed his excitement about joining the Broncos and his plans to lead the team back to the Super Bowl.
Current Broncos quarterback Drew Lock was not present at the press conference. However, he released a statement through a team spokesman, saying, "I am excited to compete with Russell Wilson for the starting quarterback position. I believe that I have what it takes to be a successful quarterback in this league, and I am determined to prove that to the Broncos organization and the fans of Denver."
The Broncos are likely to have a new starting quarterback come Week 1 of the 2022 season. Lock has been the Broncos' starting quarterback for the past three seasons, but he has not been able to lead the team to a winning record. Wilson, on the other hand, is a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl victory in 2014. He is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
